Coed Panteg

Ah January.  The New Year and time to think about the woods.

Started the annual ritual of coppicing- two days of chainsaw strife. Brash piles grow, ash logs in rows close to the track. Trees hung up and leaning pulled out and sectioned.

Elsewhere our growing space is looking ravaged. the neighbours bullocks rampaged through the orchard- ground poached, trees muched. C’mon Mr Williams – Get your fences mended! The willow hedge is pruned and half the orchard trees tidied up.Image

Path below the growing space after the trample of the bullocks.
